Happy Thanksgiving
Yes my Christmas tree is already up and has been since Tuesday. It would have been up even earlier but I had to finish painting the wall before we could set it up. You see in a country that doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving a number of my friends have had their trees up for a few weeks already. It was so weird to wake up this morning, put on a short sleeve shirt and my flip flops and drive my kids to school - what could be more un-Thanksgiving like? I do admit to watching the Macy's parade and half of Miracle on 34th Street. That was kind of a treat - I haven't been able to do that since the last Thanksgiving I celebrated in Mexico! I did venture to cook a small thanksgiving dinner for us. The turkey cooked much faster than I anticipated (maybe it's the Celsius temperature control on the stove - I can't ever remember the conversion!) so I had to call Joe at work and say, "You'd better head home soon so the turkey will still be warm." I of course hadn't even started the potatoes or carrots at that point, I thought I had another hour left! I took my white potatoes out of the cupboard and realized that I had accidentally left the sweet potatoes in with the others - so naturally they were moldy and gross. One less thing to cook though. We had turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots and fresh cranberry sauce. All in all I would have to say that it was a pretty successful Thanksgiving, only the second time I have been in charge of the whole dinner (the first was the other Thanksgiving that we were in Mexico). And now the boys are out shopping for my Christmas present - what a sweet family! I am so thankful for all our family and friends and the support and love that they have shown us this year. Know that we love you all and miss you dearly!

the Tree looks great. Lisa & Tyler have been bothering me to get ours up. Ah yeah, I remember the days of going xmas shopping in my shorts (that was NC), loved it!
Oh, we got a deal on a Cruise, didn't think we'd go this year, but, be fit one in the first week of January.
Glad all is going well.
