You Know You're in Mexico When

As you can well imagine living in a new country affords you with new perspectives on a different culture and way of doing things. And though some of these differences can be downright maddening, many of them just make you want to sit back and chuckle. So hopefully this will bring a little grin to your day.

You Know you're in Mexico when.....

-you go into the restroom (which you paid 2 pesos entrance fee for) and find no toilet seats. (This was contributed by Zac)
- you buy milk in boxes in a non-refrigerated aisle
- you are approaching a traffic light that is green and then after blinking green, it turns to green, yellow, and red all lit up at once? What do you do with that?
- you are again approaching an intersection with 4 lanes of traffic and as you pass to the other side you magically have only 2 lanes - no warning, no telling which lanes you lost or where you should be
- you know in a city of 3.5 million that there's going to be traffic but are still surprised to find out the cause of the slow down is a horse drawn cart in your lane
- you are minding your own business when you feel people touching your hair - do they think the blond hair feels different? (This was also contributed by Zac who is always being petted when we are out in public)
- the automated car wash simply means that you add a few more people washing your car
-you almost drive into a big hole because the construction was marked very inconspicuously by a few small rocks and some rope (no big orange barrels here)
-you are walking through the mall and stop to look in a gift/toy store and there in front of you is a giant stuffed cigarette right next to the teddy bear?
- you are grocery shopping and enjoying the free samples when one of the free sample people offers you a sample of the new vodka?

I'm sure that I'm forgetting some that I will need to add later but that is a little slice of life from me to you.
