I Have Some Bad News...

This is what the counselor said to us when we went in to get the test results at the school. You can imagine how I might have felt, my heart sinking, my stomach queasy as she said this - in front of the boys - and especially after Anthony had such a hard time understanding the person administering his test. I thought for sure that they were going to place them back a few grades. But then she turns to Anthony and says, "You are going to have to cut your hair." You could probably hear my suck in a huge sigh of relief. Is that all? We already knew that! So thankfully the boys were both placed in their correct grades - 5th and 3rd. And after me bugging Anthony all summer about trimming his hair, he demanded that we cut it that day (even though they didn't start for another week and a half). So here is before: And here is after. He once again looks so much like Zac that people are having a hard time differentiating them.

After many frustrating delays and long days spent cooped up in our house the boys finally started school on August 28! Here is their first day of school picture. And yes those are uniforms, their PE uniforms. They also have daily uniforms - grey slacks and a white polo shirt. It makes getting dressed pretty simple - as long as I have done the laundry!

As you can see it is very dark in the photo. We have to leave the house about 7:15 to get to school. That means I have to be up at 6 and for all you who know me or any other true Carris - we love to sleep in! So it has been killer for me (and Zac too, he must be a Carris) I actually came back from dropping them off and took a nap!
