Our Newest Addition!

After our trip on the road to Saltillo, we were thoroughly convinced that we should look into a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Joe had been looking at stuff for a while and we found a few things but weren't sure exactly what we wanted. We have had 2 other Ford Broncos before - the first one while we were here in Mexico before and Joe really likes them. When he found this one - I could see that gleam in his eye again! After looking at a Cherokee yesterday he found this. Today after church he and Anthony went to drive it and drove home with it! Of course we had to take it out for a spin this evening and Anthony wanted to do a short hike up the mountain. So off we drove up these switchbacks - but all paved, they were put in for some new developments. We got to the end of the paved section and were on dirt on a fairly step incline. And all of the sudden, a split second too late, I see a big hole we are coming upon. Our front right tire is hanging down in the hole, I am freaking out, and instantly deciding that if this is what off roading is like I am way too much of a scaredy cat. But Joe just puts it in reverse and backs us out of the hole. I think he was a little surprised too - the incline was so steep that we couldn't really see what was coming. Well we parked and got out to see what we had driven into and it was just a hole for some footings for a water holding tank but at the moment it had felt like we were hanging off the edge of the Grand Canyon. I was still shaking like a leaf for a good little while but we got over it and hiked up the cactus filled mountain side. I hope that our subsequent trips are a little less adrenaline filled - but if I have learned anything about boys in the last 12 years they won't be! Stay tuned for more excitement....

So, on these exciting excursions... do the boys ride on the outside of the truck or the inside? :)

Although it would be quieter with them outside, we let them ride inside!
