Are You Kidding Me?

Disclaimer: This post contains whinning and complaining. For those of you intolerant of these things, please skip reading this entry.
Now that you have been warned, let me get right into my complaining. A week and a half ago I realized that I might have a sinus infection (my big hint was the world spinning and tilting without me.) So off I went to the doctor to get some medicine. I got my prescription for Bactrim and quickly took my first dose (I really wanted the room to stop spinning). Unfortunately, after about 15 minutes I noticed itchy, red bumps on my face and neck. Now let me say that although I have alot of allergies (basically all living things) I have never been allergic to any medicine. Apparently though my body has decided to shake things up a bit and react to antibiotics now too. So I made another call to the doctor for a different medicine.
You would think that all would be well then but you would be wrong. On Sunday, at a VBS picnic at a friend's church, I came within moments of blacking out. Joe had to practically carry me to the car. Talk about embarrassing first impressions! I continued with my dizziness and headaches for a day or so until I decided to call the doctor again ( I am on a first name basis with the staff there now!) I was told to stop taking all medicine and to take Benadryl all day and call this morning. Now I don't know about you but taking Benadryl makes me cranky and tired and just out of sorts. So you can imagine how excited I was at this prospect. And to top everything off, Joe informed me he would be out of town the next day. 36 hours of taking care of the boys while being drugged up. I called the doctor this morning and they have decided I was having a reaction to the amoxicilin. Apparently my body has a quota of allergies it has to fill and since I am recieving allergy shots to get rid of my original allergies, my body has decided to add some new ones. I am now waiting to hear from the doctor again - I still need something to get rid of my sinus infection.
All kidding aside, although I don't feel great I know that I am truly blessed to live in a country where I can easily have access to numerous different antibiotics and a doctor that I can drive to anytime I want and a car that is reliable and a job that pays more than enough to pay for the gas, car, doctor visits, and numerous medicines! Thank you God!

awwww...that is so sad! What a horrible ordeal. You would almost have to guess it would work out this way, considering it is never easy when you are sick. Isn't your average time of recovering 10 times the normal person? I wish I could be there to do something for you! Molly

I am so sorry to hear of your illness. It is difficult to be plagued with these sinus infections and now to the treatment. You are a trooper the way you handle it all and rarely complain. Your health will be added to my prayers for you.
